FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NEKEDE EDUCATION FOUNDATION...
"Empowering staff and students through education, health, and entrepreneurship programs."
A LITTLE GOOD HERE FOR A BETTER WORLD.
Pace-setting Federal Polytechnic Nekede has flagged off an education foundation initiative aimed at providing succor to her staff and students in strategic areas of need.
At the flag-off ceremony last Friday held at the main auditorium of the institution, the Rector, Engr. Dr. M.C. Arimanwa FNSE, JP, declared that the foundation is envisioned to be “The most amazing community-centre education foundation, building a culture where little good served and shared blossom like mustard seed with great impact on humanity.”
Further, Rector Arimanwa declared that staff and students who register with the foundation are positioned to enjoy education scholarship, international cultural exchange programmes, ICT training, care and health support services, among others.
In the interim, the Rector announced that “the foundation has initiated plans to start a Chinese Language Class under the International and Foreign Language Programme, and we are hopeful that the efforts will begin to yield fruits soon.” The Polytechnic chief executive therefore called on the polytechnic community to ensure a collective support for the Foundation so that its objectives can be actualized, stating that time, energy and resources must be committed to the programme to make it a reality.
Earlier, Chief A.N. Obi, a director in the Foundation, stated that the programme was packaged to provide staff and students with necessary assistance in health, education, scholarship funding, et cetera. He thanked the Rector for his continual support to the project which had been made a reality. He therefore promised to devise a means where every staff and student would be a member so that they could access the benefits of the programme.
Meanwhile, a flier that was shared at the programme indicated that staff could register with the sum of N2000 while students do same at N1500, payable to Access Bank account: 1517221964 in favor of the name of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Education Foundation.
The climax of the programme was the installation of the Rector as President of the Foundation. The Board of Trustees of the Foundation headed by Prof C.U. Njoku was inaugurated alongside the Board of Directors that included Chief A.N. Obi, Ms Nneoma Eleke, Dr Ethelbert Mberekpe and Mr I.M Aligbe.
